It’s been around two years since and OG known as T from the V reinvented his image and introduced us to Stogie T. This transition was more than just a name change. Oh no! It was like a newer level of the great emcee was unleashed, one that perfected a blend between conscious raps and opulence while making it musically digestible. A self-titled album soon followed. Stogie T the album was a good body of work and still has some tracks that are still making it to our playlists.

Stogie T, the rapper, has now dropped a project titled Honey and Pain. 3 singles from the project had made it to the light ahead of its release. Honey and pain was the first, which he explained as his take on the bitter and sweet parts of life which can’t always be separated. The 15 minute long God’s Eye was the second single to hit the streets. On there Stogie is rapping his ass off as usual while switching the style up a few times. Pretty Flower is the more recent singe from the three and features Maggz and Kwesta with Stogie dropping a dope verse.

Honey and Pain has good production all in all and the raps do require some attention as could be expected. The beats have a nostalgic, soulful feel to them that still carries a bit of that live element Stogie came up on. Lyrics have ample wordplay, touching on the realities of life, with the occasional signature Stogie floss. Honey and Pain is available on digital platforms for streaming and purchase.
